LANGUAGE ARTS FOR THE WEEK OF : March 5 - 9
**Spelling – We will have a test over these words on Friday, 3/9.

We will learn how to use I and me correctly.

We will read the story “Bad Dog Dodger”. We will do related comprehension, vocabulary, and skills activities. Our focus will be plot/theme and prior knowledge.
**Writing
We will write about pets and cooperating with others.
**Cursive
We will continue to write words using lower case letters. We will learn the following capital letters: R, L, and B.
**HOMEWORK
We will have a take home reader on Tuesday this week. Your child will bring home a story that should be read to an adult. The story booklet should be signed by the person listening to the story and returned to school on Wednesday.
**BOOK IT – FEBRUARY GOAL – 250 MINUTES - DUE 3/29.
MARCH GOAL OF 250 MINUTES WILL BE DUE MARCH 29.
For the next few months we will be participating in the Book It at-home reading program sponsored by Pizza Hut. At the beginning of each month your child will be given a calendar with that month’s reading goal. Your child will read the specified number of minutes, have the calendar signed by an adult, and return the calendar to school by the due date. When the calendar is returned to school, I will give your child a coupon for a FREE personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Your child will also receive a 100% as a Book It reading grade. Failure to complete this assignment will result in a 0% as a Book It reading grade.
