**SAVE ALUMINUM CAN AND PULL TABS – COLLECTION DATES ARE APRIL 30 – MAY 3……DROP OFF PLACES FOR CANS LOCATED OUTSIDE BUILDING – PULL TABS GIVEN TO HOMEROOM TEACHER

**TALENT SHOW PRACTICE FOR 2ND GRADE WILL BE MAY 7 AT 2:30 PM. BEING SURE TO BRING MUSIC AND PROPS IF NEEDED.  You must have a note from your parent saying you can stay for rehearsal and stating who will pick you up from practice.

LANGUAGE ARTS FOR THE WEEK OF:  April 30 – May 4


**Spelling – We will have a test over these words on Friday, 5/4.

We will practice paragraph writing.

** Reading
  We will read the story “Jingle Danceer”.  We will do related comprehension, vocabulary, and skills activities.  Our focus will be character, plot, setting, and prior knowledge.

**Writing
We will write about ceremonies and festivals.


*Cursive
We will write cursive sentences and attempt to transpose print to cursive.


**HOMEWORK
We will have a take home reader on Tuesday this week.  Your child will bring home a story that should be read to an adult.  The story booklet should be signed by the person listening to the story and returned to school on Wednesday.
