LANGUAGE ARTS FOR THE WEEK OF:  April 23-27


**Spelling – We will have a test over these words on Friday, 4/27.

**English
We will learn how to use commas in compound sentences.

** Reading
  We will read the story “Cowboys”.  We will do related comprehension, vocabulary, and skills activities.  Our focus will be cause/effect and graphic organizers.

**Writing
We will write a 3 paragraph piece about family celebrations.


*Cursive
We will write cursive sentences and attempt to transpose print to cursive.


**HOMEWORK
We will have a take home reader on Tuesday this week.  Your child will bring home a story that should be read to an adult.  The story booklet should be signed by the person listening to the story and returned to school on Wednesday.
